Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in this part of the island of Montreal that is known as the West Island. Many people who don't know the name mistakenly believe that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. It is actually, the West Island includes everything westward of Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently mentioned, but her brief time in the city wasn't. Brugel was a young woman within Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. At the beginning of her life, she wanted to be the next big thing in her career, but a sudden expansion of her body made it impossible. In an article published in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. When I outgrew my male companions, I quit. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the case of Brugel, it was the nudge of a high school drama teacher that pushed her in the right direction. The teacher suggested she try to get a role for the school's annual show. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. She was awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated at the age of 20 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Since then, she's appeared involved in more than 60 shows, big and small. Most notable was the time she was cast as Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel appeared only on rare moments in the very first season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the sole Canadian participant.
