Elizabeth Reaser, an American actor on film, TV and stage, is most well-known for her roles in The Twilight Saga as well as shows like Greys Anatomy or True Detective. An audition tape was sent to the producers, along with another tape of her performing MMA. They wanted to know if she could do sword fights and the next day sent her a clip of sword combat. After reading the script, Jessica knew that the role will require training in weapons and she recorded her first session in a class with a professional. Based on Jonathan Glassner, the stunt team was surprised at how well she did during her initial lesson. The Outpost is her first significant part in the US because her earlier filmographies were in Australia. Jessica's expertise in mixed martial, the horse and weaponry as well as her capacity to do stunts, provide her to portray an imposing female character. She was trained in mixed combat, boxing and muay Thai in an Australia-based gym. When shooting Season 4, Jake Stormoen met a stray dog that was roaming about the set. The puppy had taken up residence within one of the locations. Jessica fostered the two puppies.
